Staff Information

At Woodham Academy, every member of staff plays a vital role in delivering high-quality careers education. Our integrated personal development curriculum is taught by all staff, ensuring that careers guidance is woven throughout every aspect of school life. Careers education is not limited to specialist sessions; it is embedded within each subject lesson, helping students see the relevance of their learning to future opportunities.

Research shows that when students understand how their classroom learning connects to real-world careers, they are more engaged, motivated, and aspirational. By highlighting the links between curriculum content and future pathways, staff help students identify progression routes, set ambitious goals, and build the social capital needed for success—especially for those with limited networks.

Through this whole-school approach, we ensure that every student benefits from meaningful careers education, preparing them for the world beyond Woodham Academy.

In accordance to the Gatsby Benchmarks, staff mostly contribute to benchmark 1 and 4. Below are a number links which will aid those staff wanting to further their CPD training and further reading.
